Winter, the White “Stuff” & Weekly Deals!

Well…winter’s here in full swing! It hit hard on Saturday and it seems like no one remembers how to drive in the snow. But that’s life in Saskatchewan!! So when you’re out driving – drive carefully. There’s ice under the snow, which adds to the problem of winter driving.  But…we’ll certainly have a white Christmas!  I’m sure the white “stuff” is here to stay!  And…I heard the price of gas is going down!  That’s a bonus!!

So…even though we got hit with the snow…here’s something better to think about…

2 Cards – 1 Stamp Set!

Yesterday as I was getting ready to go to work, Kirsten called and said that she was going to the Mall with the boys. Since I was going to be working at the same Mall, I met them there and had a great time with my little grandsons before I had to go to work!  We were in the Mall Playground for awhile, then while Kirsten did some shopping, I took Emmett & Silas down to the Christmas store.  We watched the Christmas display they had set up in the window – which really intrigued the boys!!  There was an elf “riding” a handmixer in a bowl of “sugar”, another one scooping out some “sugar”, one was hanging upside down from the window, and another one was “sitting and twirling” in an upside down candy cane!  It was really done well, lots to look at and fun to watch!

Speaking of Christmas…I have 2 cards to show you today – both from the same stamp set.  The one card is a Christmas card…but changing out the sentiment from the same set, it can be made into a Thank You card.  There is also another stamp “You’re Invited” that can be used for invitations of any kind.  Change out the colours, and the set can be used year round!  I love anything that can be used more than once in different ways…a great way to get your money’s worth from a stamp set!!

Letterpress Winter - Thank You

Both cards are from the new Photopolymer stamp set – Letterpress Winter – in the 2014 Holiday Catalogue (#135143 – Page 21).  One great thing about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is that there are lots of ideas for us to choose from!  These cards were shown recently in the Stampin’ Success magazine that’s for demonstrators only.   Here are all the items I used to make this card…

The (New) Holiday Catalogue

Well…so far we’ve been very fortunate that the ground is still clear.  It was raining tonight – but still no snow.  We heard that there’s about 4″ of snow at our cabin, but none here so far!  That should make for a shorter winter – only about 5-6 months – instead of ‘forever’!!!

And speaking of snow and winter, have you seen the new Holiday Catalogue yet?  As the name suggests, the Holiday Catalogue is filled with all sorts of goodies for the holidays…Halloween (although it’s not a holiday), Thanksgiving and, of course, Christmas – my favorite holiday.  I realize that we’re about halfway through the timeframe for this catalogue – but WOW – there’s lot’s in it and you still have time to shop and make projects for Christmas!!

Here’s “a few of my favorite things”…

Tree Punch

$22.95

There’s a lot more that I like…I’ll post them later on!  If you need a Holiday catalogue, just send me a quick email and I’ll get one to you!

The Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon (#135840 – Page 15) is a dream to work with.  It’s one of the products we’ll be using on Saturday night in our Christmas Card class.  If you haven’t registered for the class yet, be sure to do so.  Click here to register online.  If you want any of these products, you can shop online 24/7 by just clicking here.

I apologize for not getting this post out sooner…but over the weekend, someone hacked into my computer.  And so, because of that, it had to go in to be cleaned up and fixed.  I guess it was quite a mess!  Hopefully, everything is working fine now.

I have a few projects in the works…they’ll probably be posted next week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas is Coming!!

Well…it’s now the beginning of November – which means Christmas will soon be here! … And the snow!!

First of all…I want to say a big Thank You to Angel Elmer – she worked on my blog for me and got it fixed!!  I’m always amazed at those people who know this technology and can make it work!  I’m not one of them by any means…but I love papercrafting – making cards, boxes, etc – so I really appreciate the work Angel put into my blog for me!

Have you started your Christmas cards yet? Join us on Saturday, November 8 for the Christmas Card Club class. This is one of the Christmas cards we’ll be making – with new product from the Holiday Catalogue.  Both cards are (almost) the same – just different colours!

Christmas Card - Tree Punch & Endless Wishes

Christmas Card – Tree Punch & Endless Wishes

I used the new Confetti Stars punch (#135861 – pg 30 Holiday Catalogue) and it’s amazing!  I can punch out dozens of tiny stars at one time – and use them as decorations on the tree!!  The sentiment is from the Endless Wishes stamp set (#136829 Photopolymer – pg 32 Holiday Catalogue).  Lots of Christmas sentiments to use…and I love using the Photopolymer stamps.  They make it easy to get everything lined up exactly where I want!

I’m Back…

Sorry…it seems like I’ve been gone forever!  I didn’t mean to take such a long break from blogging – but sometimes life just gets in the way of what we’d like to do!

While I was “gone”, I also had some issues concerning my blog.  I’m not quite sure how to fix some of it yet…but I’m learning!  It may take a while to get it the way I want it, but it’ll get there.  I find I’m “technically challenged” when it comes to doing some things with the computer and blogs!

I’ve had some exciting things happen over the last few months, though!  The first – and most exciting is that our 6th grandchild should be arriving any day now!  It will be so nice to have another little one here!  I’ll keep you posted.

The other exciting news is that I’ve been asked to be part of the Country Farms Marketplace – a new farmers’ market which has started up in Confederation Mall.  Janine Bubnick is the manager of the Marketplace and asked me if I’d like to join them.  I have a space and am selling my cards – which is something I’ve always wanted to do.  Go onto Facebook – Country Farms Marketplace – and you can see some of the photos that Hannah has taken of the Marketplace.  There is local  – baking, sausages, perogies, cards (of course!), jewelery, bath fizzies, baby quilts, as well as Tupperware, Scentsy, Epicure…and lots of other things as well.  Come for coffee and the special of the day!!  We’re there every Saturday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, so if you’re out and about on Saturdays, stop by!  I’d love to see you!!

I don’t have any cards to post today – but will later on!  By being at the Marketplace, I now have a chance to use my paper, stamps, ribbons, buttons and anything else that isn’t current.  I’ve got some fabulous stamps that haven’t seen enough ink and some gorgeous Designer Series paper that needs to meet up with some cardstock!  So…later on down the road, you’ll be seeing some cards made with retired products.  But if you like the style of the card, you can probably swap out the retired products for current ones!  If you have any questions about what you see, just leave a comment and I’ll get back to you!

Tomorrow is going to be a fabulous day (and I don’t care what the weather’s like!).  I don’t have to go to work – so my whole day will be spent with stamps, ink and paper!  Love it!!!  I want to get a few more cards made for Saturday, but I’ll be able to spend the day at home playing working!  Can’t get any better than that!!

Take care…thanks for stopping by!

Inky hugs & blessings…
