I’m Back…

Sorry…it seems like I’ve been gone forever!  I didn’t mean to take such a long break from blogging – but sometimes life just gets in the way of what we’d like to do!

While I was “gone”, I also had some issues concerning my blog.  I’m not quite sure how to fix some of it yet…but I’m learning!  It may take a while to get it the way I want it, but it’ll get there.  I find I’m “technically challenged” when it comes to doing some things with the computer and blogs!

I’ve had some exciting things happen over the last few months, though!  The first – and most exciting is that our 6th grandchild should be arriving any day now!  It will be so nice to have another little one here!  I’ll keep you posted.

The other exciting news is that I’ve been asked to be part of the Country Farms Marketplace – a new farmers’ market which has started up in Confederation Mall.  Janine Bubnick is the manager of the Marketplace and asked me if I’d like to join them.  I have a space and am selling my cards – which is something I’ve always wanted to do.  Go onto Facebook – Country Farms Marketplace – and you can see some of the photos that Hannah has taken of the Marketplace.  There is local  – baking, sausages, perogies, cards (of course!), jewelery, bath fizzies, baby quilts, as well as Tupperware, Scentsy, Epicure…and lots of other things as well.  Come for coffee and the special of the day!!  We’re there every Saturday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, so if you’re out and about on Saturdays, stop by!  I’d love to see you!!

I don’t have any cards to post today – but will later on!  By being at the Marketplace, I now have a chance to use my paper, stamps, ribbons, buttons and anything else that isn’t current.  I’ve got some fabulous stamps that haven’t seen enough ink and some gorgeous Designer Series paper that needs to meet up with some cardstock!  So…later on down the road, you’ll be seeing some cards made with retired products.  But if you like the style of the card, you can probably swap out the retired products for current ones!  If you have any questions about what you see, just leave a comment and I’ll get back to you!

Tomorrow is going to be a fabulous day (and I don’t care what the weather’s like!).  I don’t have to go to work – so my whole day will be spent with stamps, ink and paper!  Love it!!!  I want to get a few more cards made for Saturday, but I’ll be able to spend the day at home playing working!  Can’t get any better than that!!

Take care…thanks for stopping by!

Inky hugs & blessings…

Brenda

Put It All Together!

Do you have photos on your computer that have never been printed? … or photos that have been printed but just sit in a box?  I do…and that’s about as far as I get with them.  I know I should do something with them…but never seem to get around to it – it’s just too big of a job!!  But…with this mini album, it won’t take long and a complete event can be put together in no time at all.

Here’s a photo of the Mini Album that we’ll be making in a class at the Lifeway Christian Academy Fundraiser.

Mini Album - Lifeway Christian Academy Fundraiser - Class 001

The Fundraiser is being held on March 15 & 16Friday evening and all day Saturday.    The Lifeway Christian Academy is an inner city school and the proceeds go to purchase various supplies and equipment that they need.  They’re only partially funded by the government, so this is a way to help out and have fun at the same time!  And we have a blast!!  There’s lots of prizes, great food all day long, and lots of room to work!!  I’ll be doing 3 classes – and this Mini Album class is one of them!!  It’s just the right size to capture an event – a family reunion, a recital, a game…!  Make one for yourself – or give it as a gift!  Remember all those photos we talked about at the beginning of this post?  Pop them into this mini album and just add some journalling!  Done!  Easy as that and didn’t even take much time!!  The other 2 classes will be Gift Card Holders (3 of them) and a Never Ending Card.  I’ll be posting each of those in the next few days.

Sign up for all 3 classes and I’ll give you a discount.  The cost for the classes is:

1 class – $25
2 classes – $40 (save $10)
3 classes (best deal) – $55 (save $20)

Register for the Lifeway Christian Academy Fundraiser through Carrie Bueckert (clblueckert@sasktel.net), and you’ll be eligible to register for these classes.  Go to my Calendar of Events scroll down the class list in March, click on the RSVP button and I’ll get your registration. I’ll get back to you with a list of what you’ll need to bring to the class and payment options.

  • The Oh, Scraps class is on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm.  Have lots of scraps laying in a box?  Bring them and I’ll show you different ways to use them to make beautiful cards.  Use the same techniques on your scrapbook pages.

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.”   Psalm 27:14

Oh Scraps!

Do you have a bucket, bin or bag filled with scraps?  I’m sure every paper crafter does.  Just like a knitter has lots of leftover yarn, a seamstress has mountains of leftover fabric, we have a billion pieces of leftover paper!  Some are too big to throw out and some are too small (so we think) to keep!  So what to do with them?

There’s an “Oh, Scraps”  class on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm.  Get some ideas on what to do with your scraps – and some tips on how and when to cut them!!   Bring your own bin of scraps and start to use some of them up – or you can use mine!  We’ll make some regular sized cards and some 3″ X 3″ cards.

Here’s 2 for starters…

Oh Scraps class - 23 February 2013 001

These are just 2 of the 3″ x 3″ cards…notice how scraps have been used to make the focal point of the cards!  Even the Melon Mambo flower under the button was cut from a scrap that was left after some punches or framelits had been used!  NOTE…Both these cards were made from retired DSP and cardstock.

And this is just the beginning…it’s like a challenge to see what can be done with the scraps so that they don’t get thrown out!  Be sure to register for this class and see what you can do with your gazillion scraps.

Remember…Sale-a-Bration is on and you don’t want to miss out on FREE!  For every $60 order you place from the current catalogues, you can get a Sale-a-Bration item for free!

Thanks for stopping by!
